General Education Course Proposals

To request a change to a course to add or remove general education status, search and select the course from the Course Inventory Management screen in CourseLeaf and then choose “Edit Course”.

From the editing screen, make sure to select “General Education Course Request” from the Change Type at the top of the screen. This will route your proposal to the University General Education Committee in the approval workflow. Then complete the General Education Requirements section.

Required Proposal Documentation

Approval is not automatic. To be considered by the committee, faculty must complete and upload the following required documents directly into CourseLeaf as part of their submission:

General Education Course Proposal Form
Department Chair Letter of Support
Course Syllabus
